I have worked in the “Early years” sector for over 8 years which has enabled me to observe the development and activities of children of pre-school years. Launching Little All Sports has given me the confidence to combine my love of sport and working with children.
During my childhood years I was a Swimmer and represented the County of Surrey and I was actively involved with netball and other sports. I qualified as an aerobics teacher in 1990. After marrying and having children I became involved in their sporting activities and have taken my Level 1 Cricket Coaching course.
I’m looking forward to combining my love of sport and working with children to develop their skills in hand and eye co-ordination, building their self-esteem and watching their faces light up with a sense of achievement after each session.
When at school I wanted to be part of every sporting activity. I represented the school in rounders, netball and athletics. I was put into long jump and high jump … not the best event for someone who’s 5”3 but I enjoyed it!! When I was older, I was part of a ladies football team and was lucky enough to compete in an inter-company football tournament in Denmark.
My love of sport has fed down to my children and they enjoy a variety of sports both in and out of school. They both attended Byfleet Gymnastics Club until recently and competed for their club at regional level.
During this time, I became a gymnastics coach with the club and have been coaching pre-school and older children for the past 5 years. This is now my opportunity to bring together all the skills I’ve learnt to help your children enjoy sport as much as I do.
